EEK! Realtek ALC1200

My motherboard M3N78 Pro by ASUS has the Realtek ALC1200 integrated audio.

This is a new computer that my brother built for me. My old computer had a Sound Blaster card in it.

I sing and like to have effects on my voice. Before when I would set the environment in the previous card, my voice would take on the characteristics of that environment.

With this new audio, I can see where to set the environment for the speakers, but my voice comes out "dry."; the music has the effects on it.

Furthermore, the sound icon on the taskbar doesn't have all of the selections. Before I could mute my mic from the taskbar with the advanced volume control.

I am running Vista 32-bit.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Realtek ALC1200

Make sure you right click on both icons there, one from Vista and the other from Realtek.

I don't have a microphone to be of more help.

Re: Realtek ALC1200

It is the sound card with the problem. It is just a factory standard and one shouldn't expect anything useful from it apart from just producing sound. For sound effects go back to the Creative solution.
