Re: AC-3 Decode

Hi there and welcome to DriverHeaven!

To do what you want to do you need to have DirectShow filter called AC3Filter. It will enable you to send the AC3 audio to SPDIF

You can get it here : AC3Filter | AC3Filter

Re: AC-3 Decode

AC3Filter is still probably your best bet, but you will need to use a program like Media Player Classic or GraphEdit (and Direct Recording) to decode from SPDIF In.

kX (if that is the driver that you are using) also has an AC3 Decoder that can decode from SPDIF In, but I do not know what is supported with the emu 1820 (or if it is supported with whatever OS you are using), and the kX Decoder does have some issues.

Re: AC-3 Decode

Assuming your card supports it, it is on the Main page of kxmixer: picture

As for AC3Filter, I do not know if there are any tutorials. The main thing is to enable "Direct S/PDIF Recording" in kxmixer, and with AC3Filter, enable the "Detect SPDIF stream in PCM data" option and make sure that PCM is enabled under the "Use AC3Filter for:" options.
