Greetings,
just like the topic subject says: does the onboard Spdif_io connector (10 pins) work or it's "fake"? Is it possible to attach a digital I/O board (like the Audigy one) and output 5.1 through coaxial connector and Creative Dolby Digital Live pack? Am I dreaming? ![]() Thanks in advance. |

Re: X-Fi Extreme Gamer onboard Spdif_io...
you can use the Digital I/O board, or make your own connections, but the Digital connection will be Stereo only, unless the audio is pre-encoded at 5.1, as I don't think your X-Fi model will encode 5.1

Re: X-Fi Extreme Gamer onboard Spdif_io...
Hi... afaik the X-Fi Extreme Gamer will output 5.1 on digital connection using Dolby Digital Live Pack (which I own).
It SEEMS that X-Fi onboard spdif connector and the one on the digital I/O card are identical. Anyway, I tried hooking the Digital I/O card with the X-Fi but with no luck. I wonder if there are some "schematics" to direct-connect the onboard connector with the coaxial input of the Logitech Z-5500 console. |
