are you shure it's not just some faulty wiring, check the cables, maby when you exedentaly clciked the wave file, you exedentaly extended (cut off) some connection wire... not a bad idea to check into that...

I loaded the Oozic player and it played the CD. So Idont believe its wiring. Most likely software. But I dont know where to start. Thank you for your response. Any Further help is greatly appreciated.

whell did you try uninstalling and reinstalling the Dang player (i'm not familiar with the player), or maby the drivers for the audio card, that might work...
and chek if the wave file you accedenly clicked on has any stream disruptions, or has an unsupported sample rate (maby your card can't play the file because the sample rate the wave file has isn't supported by the card). that sometimes glitches the driver, or the software. you can do that with the GSpot Codec Information tool, here is the download link:
http://www.headbands.com/gspot/v26x/GSpot270a.zip
open the wave file with the tool, click the MS A/V button (the button with the number 1), and see if the program says that the file is rendered ok. if it is rendered ok, you should read the following: "Render OK. The following comination of filters was used:". and then it should list the filters which the wave file was rendered with, which should be none because it's a PCM (Pulse Code Modulation) file, so it doesn't require any codecs, all it requires is a DirectSound Device, the card does all the work.
so if the card can't support the wave file for some reason, then the problem will be shown with this tool.
try any of these approaches, see if it works, and post back

GigaWatt,
Dang is an expression like, Damn. The player is a Creative Play Center II. Disregard this message if it was all a joke. HA! Once again, Thank you for your time.

no the post was not a joke, try what i wrote earlier, it might work
i know that dang is a slang term, but because you wrote it with a capital letter, i thought it must be some kind of a player (i'm not really familiar with the players that come out on the net these days, i only stick to one: Winamp for audio and Media Player Calssic for video... actually thats two ).
also, some more specifications for the machine on which the problem occured would be nice , especially the audio card and moterboard, is it an onboard card, what kind of OS do you use... stuff like that... .
from what i've understood so far, looks like the player is the problem, maby a newer (or an older) version of it would work fine, try that also and post...
