Creative Audigy 4 issues
Ok, I recently upgraded my sound system from a Creative 2.1 setup to logitech's X-540 5.1 setup. The system works great and once my rebate goes through only cost $50
. The problem is that for some reason in my creative audio console under the speakers tab it keeps reseting to 2/2.1 speaker setup whenever i start the computer back up from being shut down. I have the latest drivers from creative for Vista x64. Any help is much appreciated.

Unfortunately all those pax drivers did for me was put that exclamation mark next to my creative card in device manager so i reverted back to creative's drivers. Still it seems that whenever i reboot my comp all my settings through creative audio console get reset, this isn't limited to just my speaker config setting, but also other settings like bass and treble.

No problems with my Audigy 4 using these,
SBAX_PCDVT_LB_2_15_0004EQ.rar - FileFront.com In fact the card sounds better than it did in XP. |

Well it's nice to have those extra apps again, but I'm still getting the same problem, though now it keeps setting my volume back to 88 as well.

Ok, got the problem fixed, apparently it's something to do with the CtHelper.exe app. So if anybody else has this problem just set your settings to what they should be in your audio console, run msconfig.exe and disable that app in the services tab and reboot.

Guess that is why I have never had that problem, I always disable CTHelper after installing Creative drivers and have for years.

yeah, for some reason i thought it was a necessary program for my card to work right, but then when nothing else worked figured that had to be it, what does that program do anyways?
