logitech z-5500 or razer mako?
hellow
i'm planning to buy new audio system this summer...so far i've listened sound throu radio with woofer...i could say 2.1 sytem now i've decided to do some shopping again, and i can't really decide which one to buy...they have similar price, so i'm now in worry if 5.1 would be better than good 2.1? so...my list contains only Logitech z-5500 and Razer Mako...i've seen some Creative systems, but they sure look ugly :P can u suggest me anything? p.s. pc is gonna be used for everything from gaming, listening to music, watching videos... |

Question is:
What kind of sound device are you using? the razer mako is obviously a 2.1 device (right?) and i already know the z-5500 is 5.1 (i thourhgly enjoy mine) But the Z-5500 only excells when it's attached to good sound device. Prefferably the Realtek ALC88x series HD audio devices.

i've got maximus formula and supreme striker 2 sound card on it...so i belive it should be sufficient enough even for 5.1...right?
ROSCIX: yes i could buy components like you've said, but i think it would cost more for aprox. same system. wouldn't it? i'm more or less just curious if mako is that great that would beat z-5500 i don't know anybody with either of that systems..tnx in advance |

the cost of building a component system that surpasses that of the z-5500 is not worth while unless you plan on spending considerably larger amounts of many on an average of roughly 5-7 TIMES that of what it cost for the z-5500 to begin with.
If i were to build a component system vs the z-5500, i wouldn't bother with anything less then: Yamaha amplifier with no less then 350 watt output (7.1 capable aka, 50 watts per channel) and then 7 speaker shelf speakers rated 100 watt + consisting of a 1.5" tweeter and 5-7" PORTED mid, topping it off with a 300+ watt subwoofer. The cost of such a system that essentially would guarantee BEATING the z-5500 would cost on average about 5-7 times more...
