Live! 5.1 or NF7 Onboard Audio
As above.. =]. Do note it's the NF7, not the NF7-S... So no SoundStorm =[. Thanks!

Personally I do use the 5.1 card. But this is only because my speakers require a digital cable. NF7 doesn't have a digital output.

Ok... Which one would you use if you didn't have a need for the digital cable...? Does the onboard audio support EAX and stuff?

Hmm..I would say the Live because at least with hacked drivers you will receive better gaming support. However, I haven't messed with this board so I'm in the air honestly since don't like Creative.

I'd just use the onboard. It works fine on just about anything. No need for an extra pci card when the onboard is nearly just as good.

I'm gonna agree with Drive on this....
If you had an Audigy 1 I would say use that. However, since you don't you honestly don't have that much advantage to using it.
1. Drivers suck
2. Using onboard you will/should have better air flow through your case.

Air flow: Ha, um, a sound card will barely affect air flow, as it sits below the vid card. Not many people are concerned about air flow below a pci card that is below the agp card...

Anything that helps for a postive air flow in your case does matter. Just think about it like this the less cards below your viddy allows the viddy to receive more air. Okay, maybt not a whole lot but any little bit helps. Plus it also makes for a neater setup.

Hmm.. Ok thanks! =] Does the onboard support EAX? And which drivers should I use? Those from the nforce driver package or those from the Realtek website?

It's not SoundStorm - so Realtek.

Try these first then, if they don't work, use Realtek

Ok, thanks in advance! Hmm... My friend has a NF7 2.0, and a 5.1 speaker setup. The rear and center speakers will not work unless he's using the RealTek drivers.. .
Sorry for the late reply..

This is probably because they are handled by Realtek AC97 codec, and not NForce APU... I doubt something can be done about it...
