ASUS P5K , problem with Realtek HD Audio drivers

Hello,

here's the deal.

I just got my new compo , ASUS P5K,4GB Ram,Intel Core 2 Quad, and i run Windows XP Professionals 64bit.

The problem is , that the system will NEVER let me install the audio drivers , due to some errors. The problem seems to be in the "Audio High Definition driver" in the device manager...its always unfuctional, and when i try to install the drivers (which i downloaded from the realteak official site ) , in the end i get an error.

It tried to disable it, uninstall it , and then re-install with the downloaded drivers, but i still get that error (x00001 or something).

Its been 4 days now , and i'm getting pretty much crazy.

Help!!

System Specs

You have to download ALL the windows udpates including the XP High Definition Audio fix (as by default XP is flawed with the hd audio)

P5k hd audio reality

CONTRARY to the above post I have discovered the opposite 'fact'' - a reformatted HDD RAID1 system partition on a base level P5K mb, with XP Pro installed AND XP SP1 'ONLY', instantly recognizes the HD AUDIO chip and installs the drivers - then apply XP SP 2 / 3. I tried several times to install the HD AUDIO drivers AFTER updating XP to the latest patch level with constant failure and many wasted hours reading many forums.
