im sure you'll love it, i enjoy my x meridian very much, great for movies and i have had no trouble with games.

You do know its just the Xplosion with diffent analog opamps,The LMA4652 opamp for the front and for the other ones I forgot. its based on the CMI8770 like The normal Xplosion.
But you will enjoy it no doubt in that. It having Swapable opamps is another neat feature, which the org Xplosion had to.

not really..... people forget how bad their soundcards are from their capacitors and crappy opamps.....
his are already better than most and can be upgraded easiily

I dont think that soo many people need those features.
When i watch movies, the sound goes out spdif (DD/DTS passthrough, no encoding needed) and all those great opamps arent really needed if you play games.
IŽll wait for X-Fi 2.

They still improve the sound quailty of games also even if you dont listen to music at all. Then the DD live is for those who wanna use digital when there playing there games. Like I do with my Z5500 when I get tired of using my headphones.
If I didnt have my OPA627,I still would grab a pair even if I didnt listen to music at all. So it just depends on your wants.
