Need help setting up Audio & mouse on Compaq Presario A924ca

Here's the spec's on my comp:

Compaq Presario A924CA Notebook PC (ZU370UA) specifications - HP Home & Home Office Products

I downgraded Vista to XP, but i can't get my audio to work. I've tried the instructions from:

HP Tech support won't help cuz I downgraded my sys so it's up to u guys 2 help me now. Pls reply by responding 2 my tread or emailing me @ ineedhelp4mycompaq@gmail.com

Side question: I have any old MS Intellimouse 1.3a that I want to make work. It has a ps2 connector so i got a usb adapter 4 it. I dl the most recent driver from MS, but it still doesn't work. Any sug's??
