Microphone problems in Counter-Strike Source and Ventrilo

I just built a new computer and until SP1 comes out for vista, I am running XP 32-bit. I bought a [Creative 70SB046A00003 7.1 Channels 24-bit 192KHz PCI Interface Sound Blaster X-Fi Platinum Fatal1ty Champion Series Sound Card] for my system and am having some trouble getting my Headset Mic to work in the front port. (Card can be seen in link below). I have not tried any other programs, but it will not work in CS:S or ventrilo, which are the two programs I most often need to communicate in. If any has a website link or can explain how I need to have my settings adjusted I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!

My drivers would have that Mic fix for ya wait to tomorrow sometime

I'm making vista fix right now since I got the drivers perfect now
