Greetings Robert,
Thank you very much for all the effort, support and this great share!
As you know, im using the Audigy 1 Platinum EX and will like to know whether the 04 release includes anything else or it just solely drivers with the Audio Console.
I could not access the Audio Console therefore could not select options of EAX customization and mixer controls, is there a conflict for Audigy 1 users?
Im going to try out the SpkCal you recommended and ill get back to you soon.
Thank you once again for your patience and i hope to hear from you soon.
Cheers!
EDIT: The drivers worked for me but there i have no software to play around with. So i removed all the drivers went for the Audigy 4 Softmod. Its Excellent! Thank you for ur time!

I also tried the new versions 4.x with my Audigy1 with Windows XP. I've got a Creative Inspire 5.1 speaker set connected with digital-connector via Creative-5.1-digital-DIN cable. Driver settings 5.1 Digital Out only.
As always at first I uninstalled every Creative stuff first and used driver cleaner afterwards.
The new 4.04.00 doesn't give me a bluescreen during installation anymore, though at the beginning of the Setup (before first restart) an error occurs, like 10 times, that some file is missing (sorry don't remember the filename).
Except that everything installs like a charm.
Usually I use the YouP-Pax 2.32 sp2 apps to control audigy settings. Here are my problems, which are the same with every version newer than "YouP-PAX AudigyX 3.63.03d":
1) good old compact surmix2 doesn't start anymore "error initializing the mixer-engine"
2) AudioHQ starts with error "CtSuRes.DLL is missing". But it seems to work.
3) Audigy4 GraphicEqualizer doesn't work anymore. Error Message "not enough memory". Two of the modded pfmod.dlls I found let it crash. The one coming with the driver and the on provided by mcclealand give the same error meessage above.
4) Audigy4 Surround Mixer: Every little change on any Volume control sets every channel except left and right to zero volume. This makes the Creative apps absolutely unuseful. I can only change Volume with Windows standard mixer.
5) like Readme.txt says I didn't install AudioConsole. But the sp2 app2 include a version too, this one still works excellent, thank god.
I guess I better try Creative standard drivers next time I reinstall Windows.

I overwrote the C:\Program Files\(Youp_Pax Audigy-XFI-XP V4.04.00)\Drivers\wdm\wdma_emu_a.inf with the new one. Afterwards I started C:\Program Files\(Youp_Pax Audigy-XFI-XP V4.04.00)\Drivers\setup.exe to reinstall drivers. It copied something but then voila the good old bluescreen with ctoss2k.sys. After a restart I couldn't notice any difference. Should there be anything changed with th new inf?

moded ctp046Aw.dat
this is a final (i think) moded version of .dat file for my card
this is not a file from any other cards like my later mod (ctp0465w.dat)
this one based on original ctp046Aw.dat whith restored decoder code (normaly bypassed by creative)
!!! only for card with id PCI&VEN_1102&DEV_0005&SUBSYS_00 2C1102 !!!

The device manager says my Audigy1 has this device instance id:
PCI\VEN_1102&DEV_0004&SUBSYS_00531102&REV_03\4&3B1 D9AB8&0&3840
But I don't think your driver misses support, cause it works. It's only quite annoying that Surround Mixer and Equalizer which I use very often do not work together with this driver.

One solution for the Surround Mixer is to use Windows Volume Control. Just go to Control Panel then Sounds and Audio Devices then speaker volume tab. Check Place Icon in Taskbar. Then click Adjust all the levels, then check box move all sliders. It's a workaround the problem. Funny thing but also a clue to finding solution is with the YouP-PAX-AXv3.63.03d windows volume control only has left and right sliders all other sliders are missing. I am looking at inf
files and registry to try to find problem.
As to the equalizer I've tried everything many versions of pfmod.dll. They don't fix anything. The problem lies in .dll or .sys files I'm trying replacing some of the driver files with last version that worked. Another strange thing is in Device Manager under driver files for Sound Card only one file shows, where
in YouP-PAX-AXv3.63.03d many files show in window.
This may mean nothing but I'm trying to narrow it down.
My card is Audigy 2ZS Platinum PCI\VEN_1102&DEV_0004&SUBSYS_20021102&REV_04\4&1F7 DBC9F&0&08F0
