Multimedia Audio Controller

It started all with a simple ''?'' sign in my Device Manager under Multimedia Audio Controller...

I tried a lot of different things and finally after disabling the device and letting windows install that damn thing I got ''rid'' of it. It asked my to promt the thing to my Windows XP Proffesional with SP2 CD... So I promted it into my unpacked i386 directory of SP2 and it worked just fine.

But then : After it installed, a message popped up saying that the device is not working propolly because it can not start... So I went to my Device Manager just to check again.. And under ''Sound, video and game controllers'' I had 9 NEW 'Unkown Device's PLUS the Creative X-Fi Audio Proccesor (WMD) - The one which ''can not start''. So I freaked out .

After all that shit trouble, I still have no sound and all those unkown devices.. I've spent 8 hours trying to fix this, but it all failed. I just reformatted my pc so I had to do this, and obviously I'm stuck now. I'm ready to start tweaking my pc for gaming again, but all I need is my sound - Which I don't have.

Soundcard : Creative X-Fi Fatal1ty FPS
Drivers : Newest avaliable...

I really need help here guys, thanks in advance.

Strange, your on-board is turned off? Also check your IRQ tables to make sure there is no conflicts.

hmm - websters dictionary my provide a clue:
fatal1ty (l33t speek for 'fatality'...)
fatality: the quality or condition of being destined for disaster

j/k
Did you try different PCI slots - as Necrosis was eluding to, but maybe its a shared IRQ combination of devices causeing the trouble ..??

- sorry thats all I got.

For ships & giggles try it in another computer to make sure it works. There has been known issues w/ these cards, and nforce boards.
