Audigy 4 V X-Fi Xtreme Music

what should i go for i currently have a SB Audigy card any help would be appreciated

Well, for me I think it depends on your budget, because the X-fi is on minimun 120€ and a Audigy4 can be arranged for +-50!!! I faced the same question not a long time ago, and I choosed the audigy4, because of my budget, but if you can, X-fi is the way,although the difference is very slim,and I talk by my experience with both!! cheers

I know the X-fi is tecnological much more advanced than the audigy series, but in therms of gaming, the difference is not much,there are differences but nothing completely blazing!!!in therms of music reproduction and creation, yes, is an different world!!!

Cmon you can definately hear the difference in gaming try Chaos Theory or BF2 and you immediately can feel the difference.

I must say that I never, played those too games, so I really cant argue on them! I never said that the X-fi is not better, it is!! my point was that in today games in therms of performance and sound(eax+3d) in my opinion is that is not much difference! to be honest the only game that I have for comparison is far cry,maybe the old sound system used on that game do not show the true power of the X-fi, even so I noted a difference on the sounds being clearer,but because my friend has better columns than me, I could never make a good comparison betweenthe too cards! ciau

If you play games, you'll be really pleased only with Crystalizer (however it can put too much treble) and CMSS3D - Headphone.

Other things you can get with A4.

Oh, and btw. X-Fi seems to dislike nForce 4 mobos.

i dont know i find clarity and bass higher on the x-fi, but its not really worth the UPGRADE. but if you are getting a new system by all means go for it

well all i can say after getting rid of the crackling sound .... i am trully amazed at the sound ... with my new creative Inspire T7900 speakers

beats my old 240 watt active 95 speakers
