what sort of audigy2 is this?

Thinking bout buying this card 2nd hand but I dont know if its the same as a normal Audigy2 and it doesnt come with a CD. It has the same layout as audigy 2 zs but has colored connectors and the AD_EXT SPDIF connectors have no pins. Is this some bulk ZS? do you know if it would use inferior components to normal zs and will it work with normal creative drivers? thx

Picture was not good enough to get the SB0xxx (maybe 360, but the true model number is part of the serial number found on a sticker (M1SB0xxx2938475239...) readed but you can see it a bit clearer --> you find the model name from -

could be one of the OEM models of the A2ZS - those jacks certainly look like they're from the A2ZS model

Ok I got the serial M1SBO353442000357S and according to that list its a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 - Dell (OEM) SB0353. So it's not a ZS even though it has exact layout as one? (board even says SB0350). Is it possible to install creative drivers an software for these OEM cards?

SB035x, iirc that definately makes it an audigy 2 ZS card

Is the DSP model
CA0102-ICT --> A2Zs
CA0102-IAT --> A2.

Also, after installing the original drivers, for A2Zs you should able to see the
- Audigy 2 ZS -name on device driver names
- ASIO 24/96 driver listed as an option (you need some ASIO capable software for this)

To get original drivers/software installed, you may need to modify the ctcomp.dat using ctcomp.exe or manually because support for this card model is not included on creative driver/software installation. Here are the instructions- http://www.tech-pc.co.uk/audigy-2.php --> if you need to add your card ID manually, read the manual method.

Here is one (patched) installation CD you may try - Audigy 2 ZS software Gateway OEM

there's no real difference between the 10k2 chips of each series, just different revisions

the real difference lies in the amount of DAC channels on the card

Isn't this one point showing the model (or are these both DSP's used on both models)?

You mean Audigy 2: 6.1 vs Audigy 2 Zs: 7.1 selectable output channels (both cards just uses the same DAC's/ADC's).

Hi, Im pretty shure that Audigy 2 is DELL OEM Model, just like Audigy 2 (but it brings Firewire connector), you must use the Audigy 2 Software (Im pretty shure it's only 6.1 and not THX certified).

the may have the same DAC's, but the A2ZS just uses the extra DAC channel (all 10kX cards have the cabability of 7.1 sound, even the Soundblaster Live! - it just depends on how many DACs are in use

connect a secondary DAC (another card), and install drivers that will allow the card to function at 7.1 (not sure if this is possible)
