What kind of performance should I be getting with X1800XL

I was just curious as to what kind of performance I should be getting with my Sapphire x1800XL. I get the feeling that is running a little under power, but my expectations may be too high. I have an AMD 3800+ X2 processor and 2 gigs of ram with a 250 GB 7200 RPM Maxtor hard drive. For the most part I experience fairly decent framerates, but I get slowdown at times in some games that I wouldn't expect to get it in, such as in World of Warcraft.

Also, I have a strange issue with artifacts in certain games that utilize heavy pixel shading, but not in others. For instance, in F.E.A.R., I get black blips on the screen every now and then, but do not experience anything of the sort while using Source engine games. I also experienced this issue with Everquest 2, which admitedly ran terrible at high settings anyways, and Quake 4. Could it have something to do with the rendering engines? I've checked around the forums, and my card temp seems to be nominal, (runs around 60 degrees), so I'm not sure what would be causing it. I have also tried the latest drivers. It doesn't seem to be the usual defective card issue, and I think its a rather bit late for me to be returning my card now anyways, (I got it over four months ago). Any info or tips would be nice.

I guess maybe I should just go Nvidia next time, it seems like too many people are having trouble with these cards. I feel pretty ripped off.

Probably because he's running most stuff natively at 1680x1050 which is a little tough even for X1900XTX with everything maxed in games like F.E.A.R.
