Pissed My HIS X850 is running so slow.... please help !

Hi !

I have a big problem and I can't solve it so I need your help !

I just bought a HIS x850pro VIVO AGP video card but I have the same 3dmark05 scores that with my old 9800pro.

My config :

- P4 3ghz
- Asus P4C800 last bios
- 1 gb DDR400 dual-channel
- Enermax power supply

0. Load bios default
1. I formatted the hard-drive
2. Fresh install of win xp
3. Drivers installation (last drivers for the chipset + catalyst 5.10)

My 3dmark05 score is around 3000.

I have changed all the components without success.

If I put the x850pro on an older pc wih agp8, athlon 1600mhz, same DDR400 DC, same harddrive, same power-supply I got a better score like 4500.

I really don't know why it's so slow on my P4. Do you have any idea ?

Thanks you for your help and sorry for my bad english...

It's an Enermax that I'm using on a server with 2 opterons and 14 hard-drives but I don't remember how much WATTs. I think at least 300 or 400 W. Anyway I also tried with 2 other power-supplies (one 300W, the other 400W no-name).

Someone just said to me to try with FASTWRITE OFF. I'll try that in 1h... All my drivers / bios are set to default and I think that FASTWRITE in actually ON.

Thx

Ok I didn't found any FAST DRIVE settings in the bios but I have then disable it in the catalyst 5.10. After the reboot I made a 3dmark05 and I got only 3896.

Oh by the way the power-supply is an enermax 460w.

You mentioned you had purchased it and swapped out your 9800Pro. Did you un-install your previous drivers and used DriverCleaner in between? Have you installed the latest chipset drivers?

yes I have formated the hard-drive. I have installed the chipset from intel (the most recent) when win xp was installed.

Can you tell us what settings you are using in your Control Center/Control Panel while you are running the benchmark? What settings in the benchmark? Is there an ORB link we could look at?
