ATI radeon 9000 infinite loop

Hey,Im using a ATI radeon 9000 pro running on XP and I get an infinite loop error message sometimes and my system crashes, and sometimes my computer reverts to onboard graphics I havent found a pattern in how it happens or what triggers it, it can happen at anytime (sometimes just after startup and sometimes it can be hours or not at all). I'm using the original drivers as i haven't had a chance to update. I know the first thing i should do is update drivers but I dont have access to the net on my PC, does anyone know of a solution to my problem It would be greatly appreciated(I know i have given little info), If anyone wants to know more about my system or software just ask. My system ran perfect on a NVIDIA geforce 64mb card, and my problems were there right from when i installed the ATI card. (I have heard people say that increasing the AGP voltage may help, is that the case???)

Increasing the AGP voltage beyonf 1.55/1.6 won't help and could fry the card and mobo.

I would reccomend getting the latest drivers and using DriverCleaner first, TBH
