RadeOn 9600XT or a GeForce 6200V+
I'm on a pretty tight budget and these are the two cards I've found that I can afford from various sources.
My question is simple... Which one performs better?
Edit: Both cards are 256MB versions.

Well, I'm getting them from a couple of friends so that's the best offers.

Not to sure... it's an XPert Vision GeForce 6200V+, with 256mb of DDR2 RAM.
That's all the real information I got. I think it runs at 400Mhz but I can't be sure.

I don't know if it means a whole lot, because I didn't check for anything beyond scores, but, according to Futuremark, and the test results of 3DMark05, here are the top scores for a 9600XT vs. Geforce 6200V:
ATi = 2472
GeF = 3946
You might check out the ORB on www.futuremark.com for your own research.

6200 VS a X600 pro (equil to 9600 pro in AGP)
http://techreport.com/reviews/2004q4...0/index.x?pg=1
"the GeForce 6200 will do battle with ATI's Radeon X300 and Radeon X600 Pro. Against the X300, the GeForce 6200 is clearly superior. However, with the exception of DOOM 3, the X600 Pro's performance is tough to match."
X600 PCIe = 9600 pro AGP
X600XT PCIe = 9600XT AGP
So I think the 6200 would be slower
(but it does have like PS 3.0 support etc)

Hmm... so they're about the same I take it. Just the 9600XT nudges ahead by a little. I'll do a bit more research and let you know what I come up with.
