help my new card looks fooked

guys i just built a system today, p4 3.0ghz , 512mb 3200, 9600xt/td.

display is not quite a checkboard but looks bad, can anyone confirm dead card or recognise what may be the cause, cheers

It does look as the card is about to die, but have you checked if the fan is spinning on the HS of the card?

3rd vote for rma, but check the fan, heatsink installation, and seating of the card first.

Thats what my screen looks like if I changed my Radeon 8500's CAS latency setting.... I say the BIOS is messed.

cheers guys, returned it today and got a X700 instead, the 9600XT was "b" grade stock so i guess someone has ragged the balls out of it then returned it. they replaced it for the Brand new X700 free of charge, which was nice

yap the timings look wrong... have you flashed a new bios to it? or o/c-ed it?
either this is the result of o/c damage or your DAC has fried it self and then all you have left to do is RMA the card...
