there is rarely a error message, but the main message i get is that there seemsto be a problem with the ATI graphics and that the driver seems to be in a constant loop. The screen flickers, and the pc dosn't respond. when i try to restart the pc beeps 8 times then a pause, twice then a pause, then once. I have to wait for about 30 minutes befor i can reboot. after a while it will all happen again.
my lap top is an Advent 7026, pentium 4.
hope this helps!

Are the fans operating? does the laptop feel abnormally warm?
Sounds alot like it's over heating or some other serious issue.
Could even be dust has goten / built up inside. How long has this been going on?
Does it only happen when gameiing?

Possable action 1:
Try to use a later set of drivers video drivers like but you need a moded
set try the omega's, also could try and update your chipset drivers but you'd
have to determine what sis chipset in in you laptop..

Possable action 2:
If you realy want to see if it a hard software / issues back up your important data
any thing you need saved and then use the system restore disk and see if the
problem goes away...

If it doesn't may be a hardware issue that the laptop may need MFG service.
