I haven't seen many differences/improvements over earlier versions other than that wallpaper mode for video streams. Gotta admit that is kinda cool. It could have been in earlier versions but I never noticed it.

So any1 think there might be a way to unlock it for previous ATI cards??
This is probably because of the liscence for Cyberlink's core...

Hi!
I've read that MMC 8.0 is only working with AIW 9700 cards and MMC 8.1, which should come out soon, should work with all cards again...
I have an AIW 8500DV. Will MMC 8.0 now work with my card or not?

You are right about this. In a thread on Rage3D an employee of ATI has said this, and it appears to be true. MMC 8.0 has some features that will only work on 9700 hardware. So you are answering your own question here.....
Nope it won't work on your vid, wait for 8.1!

what happened to my last post?
mmmm, anyway, I dont know if it will work 100% with your card, but really if you have a fast download line I would give it a shot. if it causes problems just deinstall it and reinstall your older version. please be aware of course this comes with the AIW9700 card so I doubt ATI will support it running on any other card. we are just offering it to members to experiment with. its working great on my 9700 pro, then again that hardware is very similar to the AIW 9700.
also cyborg has it running on his AIW 8500 and running well from what i hear.

Hmm, I would like to know what exactly Cyborg did to get it to work, I can't get the installed to install it on my 8500DV, though I can open the cab file and extract its contents with winrar. I suppose I can install the old version and then manually overwrite all the files.

ATI
Just installed it and everything works fine except for the DVD player. I custom install the player but yet, it doesn't want to install that player. I do not know if it is because I am running DX9...but no matter what I do, I cannot get the DVD player to install. BTW, I am running a 9700 PRO
