Help!

I came here hoping to find a answer to my problem. I recently purchased Battlefield 2 and much to my surprise I am having a graphic problem. I am not very computer savy so I am at a loss to fix my problem. I am running a {ati radeon 9600 128 mb vid card}. I started playing the day of release and I was getting a little choppiness so it was recommended to me to update my driver. So I followed the instructions and updated my driver. I startd playing the game again and everything seemed great. I had no lag, no choppiness and it was very smooth. Then about 20 minutes into the game my screen froze and turned black. I thought maybe it was just a freak accident but low and behold every time I rebooted and started the game about 20+ minutes in the game would freeze. A friend of mine told me about the omega driver so I thought I would give it a try. After I installed the omega driver none of my games would detect my graphics card. Help please!

it seems to me that when you play BF2 that the card overheats and the card just stops responding. The i know that BF2 has issues playing on older drivers and that is why they recommend playing on newer drivers.

I don't think the card is overheating though I could be wrong. The temp gauge on the front of my computer show 31C and 37c for my HD and cpu. If it is a temp problem what can I do to fix it?

i highly doubt that those are the temps for your video card. you need to check what temps your video card is running at idle and under load. generally load temps are 20C higher than idle temps.

have you also tried other drivers as well? drivers like the DHZP drivers, the newest official drivers, older drivers, etc.?
