Overdrive on mobility Radeons?

i was reading the ati website and they claim that the MR9600 has Overdrive support read it here: http://www.ati.com/products/mobility...600/index.html

if that's true why doesn't the MR9700 have Overdrive support?

9600 Mobile RV350 (used for 9600XT) Has over drive, 1st graphics to get overdrive
9700 Mobile R360 (used for 9800 pro and XT) Doesn't have overdrive

Why? power consumption, heat, marketing, take your pick. remember overdrive 1/2 is more of a marketing tool then anything good... (of course OD3/OD4 rules)

What goes over driver when it going to down clock the GPU stock the instant you open any thing graphic intensive? Because the mobile 9700 is s lot hotter and requires better cooling

remember laptops are made to be mobile, Their key isn't performance period,
it's power consumption and low heat that are the main drive behind laptops
so they can be "mobile"

You can always buy a fan pad for about $20 and up to help keep it cool. But, most of them run on USB and they will drain your battery a little faster when you go mobile.
