X800 XT performance.
Im running an AIW X800 XT. The day I got it (thursday) I installed it with fresh drivers (upgraded my 9800 pro) and ran the CS:S Stress Test and 3DMark 05. I got 136.55FPS in CS and scored 5545 in 3Dmark 05. Neither were on my system... I installed both after the X800 XT was installed.
Wanting to start fresh I installed XP again. Nothing changed from my benches... same programs, codecs, drivers and such, Same test settings.....the only thing being new was SP2. I ran CS and got 106 FPS this time. 3Dmark scored 5525.
I used True Image to image this new install back but didnt install SP2 this time... but nothing changed.
I havent played CS online yet so I cant comment on how it runs but HL2 runs fine.
Im using all the latest from ATI's site... 5.3 control center (not a ccc fan), MMC 9.06. DX9c Was installed before anything since I need it for my NF3's drivers (NVmixer). The card is watercooled running 33C load, ramsinks with direct outside air flow.
Where did my FPS go?

According to Driverheavens 3dMark05 preview those are the scores you should be getting. Link I dont' know about CS:S but those seem about right to me. Your frames are right for your card.
Edit: Frames will change from permutation to permutation. Most people disregard the hundreds place on is 3dmark, because it's so variable. run a few times and get an average of scores.

Ya, everythings installed in the same order as before... DX9c, NF unified drivers, ATI Cats and so on.
As for expecting too much, I ran the CS:S stress test several times spread out over about 4 hours including reboots and a game of Far Cry. Every time I ran the test I was getting 135-137FPS... just curious what changed.

it's most likely the grahics settings you had set in game...
that and what ever you what set in the ati control panel again make a difference...
also that you useing PS 2.0b insted of just stright 2.0 i have no idea what effect other then better IQwich could make for a fps drop in it self

I never gave that a thought. I had uninstalled Steam/HL2/CS before I received the card. The day I got the card I installed everything again, updated HL2/Steam with the 9800 Pro, ran a bench just to guage improvemnt between the 9800 and X800 XT. I uninstalled the 9800 and the 5.3 Cats, installed the X800 XT and 5.3 Cats.
Reinstalling XP and the Valve stuff of course the X800 XT was installed so when I updated HL2/CS it must have added some items in the update specific to the X800.
Thanks, never thought of that.

Have you been messing with Catalyst AI settings at all? Check them, and see. AI is only present in CCC version or in Omegas, so you may need to install those. Make sure you do not have VSync enabled by accident, since that would limit your FPS, etc.

I am not sure what you mean by weird lines, but VSync prevents tearing, but may limit frame rate.
