Actually, it's normal. I think that even XT's are reported as X800 series, it's just the PE Editions. I was just suggesting that maybe a X800Se might be in the same "naming" convention.

But since you know that you have a Pro, then it's Ok.

As for the that 2nd FAN on top, well it's actually the bottom fan ! Just that on the web, if they show you the pick the right side up and such, you will not see the fan !

It's meant to suck air up, and then the other fan (the standard one on most PSU's) draws it out the back of the case.

Interesting. I tried turning it upside down, but it did not fit... I was forced to face the fan UP.. that's weird.

There was only ONE fan, though, and it was on the top.

Right now I am installing HL2 to my primary harddrive rather then my secondary (250GIG HDD). I'm hoping it improves speed because according to www.pcpitstop.com my C: drive is faster..

Should Geometry Instancing be on? What about A.I? And what should the Z-Buffer be set at? Right now that's at 16.

By the way I run perfect disk now and it defrags every single night.

Hi again ThomasMack,

I know now that you have only one fan. Thanks for the links and info on the PSU. Either way, You can see here (http://www.overclockercafe.com/Revie...eleon/1003.htm) that the fan is meant to be at the bottom, sucking air up. It is shown upside down on the web.

Maybe it's a different model you bought (Non Chameleon) either way, it's not working anymore, hope it's not because it was upside down.

You can see the text on the label of the back is misleading, cause if you are looking at the back of the PSU when it's installed properly, the power cable socket should be on the left side with the Master Switch near above or below. But then, the text would be upside down with this PSU !

Maybe the back end for the PSU of your case is not compatible with this PSU forcing you to install it differently.

You can compare with the back of this case from Antec as a reference point http://www.antec.com/us/productDetai...?ProdID=93703# just click on "click product image..." to get the back shot of the case, you'll understand what I mean after checking it out !

As for Geometry instancing etc... I would leave it at what it is set normally after the initial install of drivers.

Good luck with your performance gains endeavours and PSU RMA

I was thinking of saving that money and buying a new case that is a little bigger. Mine is.. uh.. old now and I want a updated one

Anyway, I was thinking on getting this case:
http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduc...144-089&DEPA=0

Anyway; a small update: I think I corrected the problem. With 6xAA and 16xAF, I get 81FPS on the counter-strike: source video stress test.

I am sending the power supply back through fedex right to newegg's doors, I think Newegg is pretty good with that stuff.. right? :P

Here is a update on the PC Pitstop thing:
http://pcpitstop.com/pcpitstop/Summa...8QMWEG9MRSWD36

If you click video you can see how my card performed.

Don't have time to read the thread, but I have a suggestions. Download the tweakd hl2 config file of of the zeropoint first off. 2nd in that level it's most likely your cpu/ram holding back. Many A64 systems when used with 3-4 sticks of RAM will revert to 333mhz on the ram and a commdand rate of 2T, which is a huge performance killer. Take out the non-3200 stick and go into your bios, set your timings to something decent like 2.5-3-3-7 (you can lower them later, also note that on a64 systems the 2.5 cas will give only a very small perf loss). If this doesn't solve your problems it may that 1.8ghz isn't enough for the level even though a64s are known for great gaming performance. Either way a 2800+ with a small voltage increase and even crappy pc3200 ram @ 2.5-3-3-7 can prolly ram 9x220-230 for a good perf increase.
