Overdrive not working on Radeon X800XL

Heya, First time poster, frequent visitor here..
Got a problem/questions that I hope you guys can shed some insight on for me..

I'm not getting any help from ATI's "Customer Care" department so I figured that I'd post here and ask for help.. I recently built a new PC system and put in a Radeon X800XL. I noticed that the 5.2 drivers + CCC doesnt allow me to use OverDrive, I asked ATI Customer Care for help but they are taking their sweet time getting back to me, today I went ahead and upgraded to the 5.3 drivers + CCC and I still cannot use OverDrive, despite the fact that in the release notes it says that it supports the X800 series of cards. Before I got the X800XL I had a 9600Xt, which I never had any problems with..

Is this a known bug/problem, or are the X800XL cards not supposed to have OverDrive?
Appreciate any help you guys & gals can give on this!

I'm quite sure only the XT version of all ATi cards support Overdrive. Anyone else can confirm this?

Ahhh... If thats the case I didnt know that, guess I kind of got used to having OverDrive with my 9600XT.. They really should put in the Driver Release Notes that OverDrive is not available for X800XL, or any other "non" XT series card as it doesnt state that its only for XT series cards in there..

They don't have it's common knowledge it's only supported on XT's...
Also some pros have it due to some error but it's not offically supported on
anything but XT's...

But the cores them selfs have the needed thermal sensors...
But a overdrive table bios and a correct device id are required for proper opeartion.

Most people are happyier with 33rd part tools anyways. regular overdrive kinda sucks
but over drive 3 rocks but it only on the X850XT and above
