ati rma question
my 9800pro just started fucking up recently, crazy pixel patterns instead of boot screens and such, so i figured i might have to rma but in the ati manual it says you have to register within 30 days to be under warranty. will they not fix my card if i didnt register it, its only 5 months old.

might make sure it's not something else screwing up / drivers / mobo / dust/ etc 1st
Far as I knew you don't have to register it.... just try to RMA it already...

You have to register your card??? I just sent mine in a few days ago and I never registered. Do you check the card's record before sending you the RMA instructions or do they check it after they receive it?

i went to futureshop and they traded mine for an all in wonder 9800 pro since it was on sale for the same price i bought my 9800 pro for, so i'm happy
, although the lack of a second input is kind of disappointing. i guess ill have to live without two monitors.edit: quick question, can i use the cats with my aiw card? i loved getting new cats every so often i dont want to miss out on the new driver fun! Yeah it's the same drivers. You may need to download the WDM driver package separately if the package you download doesn't have that part included, for AIW functionality.
I had about the same happening to me just weeks ago, getting an AIW model as replacement because the store didn't sport the non-AIW of that card anymore. And I was already using another TV tuner so I was happy to try the AIW instead. It's good, perhaps not the very best at image quality but quick on settin up channels and adjusting the image to edges and so on. Might end up getting me hooked on the AIW feature.
