anything radeon with SE in it usually sucks. you can mod some into higher models like the 9800 se and 9600 se if you're lucky. im not sure about the x800. if you're gonna updrage a 9800, go for a x800 pe because if you're upgrading a 9800, you probably have lots of money.

Form what I "saw" in that review, the card can be easily modded into an X800XT or X800XT PE. Its just a matter of having some luck on getting one that hasn't damaged pipelines.

the x800 se has 400 mhz ram, 8 pipelines, and a 425 mhz clock speed. i haven't seen anything related to getting 16 pipelines out of this thing, but it sounds like a big project. The highest clock speeds it could hold stable are maybe x800 pro. xt pe and xt are pretty much out of the question. if you could get 16 pipelines, it may be worth it, but the x800 xl is out and blows the se away. if you could find a link to the mod, it would be nice to see what they've gotten out of it. i saw a mod of a 6800 into a 6800u which was pretty cool.

I think it can be done. If you can take it to PRO, XT an XT PE shouldn't be that difficult to get to. I'm not saying that it can be done for real 100%. But I do believe in theory that it can be done. If I can get my hands on one SE, I'm not affraid of giving it a shot.

AFAIK, almost all X800SE can not be modded. But as u can see from that review, you can see it is highly ocable. After OC, u can find it perform very close to a X800Pro. X800SE OEM is selling @ $349cdn in Toronto, while all X800Pro is priced @ $549 in Toronto. Somehow I think this card is worth buying.

The X800 XL will outperform the SE and pro by far with its 16 pipes and ocing, so id wait for that.

I agree that the X800XL will be faster compare to the Pro and the SE. But will ATi releases an AGP version of X800XL is still a mystery.
