9000 Mobility problems

Firstly I want introduce myself.. Hi, je, je...
I´m from Spain and I don´t speak/write English very well, so ...My problem is the next.
I hace a laptop pc, a Acer Aspire 1601LC model with a Radeon Mobility 9000 with 64Mb.
The problem is that Acer don´t have drives up to date, the lalt have more than 15 month, and then games like NFSU2 for example show a Message like "Your drivers is too old, update please" and don´t me continue.
I have intall the omega drivers and the game work "great" but then i can´t be able to view Divx, avi, mpeg, etc...
Other problem is that this driver only detect 32 Mb of my 64Mb video memory.
Any suggestion, any help...

Sorry by my english.

My card have 64 Mb of memory. This memory is native not shared and in then BIOS there isn´t any site where change this parameter. In fact if i try to install the original driver the amounto of memory is 64 not 32.
I wien this in the second tab "adaptador in spanish" of the advanced settings video adapter.

and im sure you heard this before but if you having ill be the first to tell ya... Mobility 9000 arnt made for gaming. So either get a better laptop if you want to game with it or deal with the lack of performance and quality you get from it.

Ive got the same card in my lappy and am not having any problems with viewing those files, but i have had people had similar problems. Try different sets of omegas, ive got the 2.5.90 on mine.

Many are having the same problem ... I have an Aspire 1603 and no video for me either (except quicktime)

taken from Omega drivers readme:

Well, at last, the fix for the dreaded overlay video on some laptops bug has been found. The cause IS NOT the ATI drivers or any of my settings, the cause is a hardware bug, more specifically a BIOS bug. In the testing, many people already updated their Sager notebooks with a new BIOS provided by Sager and the video problem is GONE! So I encourage you to go to your manufacturer's web page and see if a new bios update has been issued for your laptop, and if not, e-mail the manufacturer so they can rush out a fix for this.
so unless Acer is gonna give us that bios fix it's either no new games or no video playback

your hitmann.
