checkerboard with Mobility 9200

I just installed Myst IV on my HP Pentium 4 laptop. The opening sequence works perfectly, and then the first time I'm expected to interact, the screen's a series of very ugly squares. I can sort of see the graphics underneath, but certainly not well enough to play the game.



I've upgraded all I can from ATI and HP, but nothing helps. I'm a little uneasy downloading the 3-rd party ATI drivers - esp after I read the install instructions on this forum. Scary.

What do you think?
