Buying an x800XT and need help please!

Ok, I have told my mom that i want a new video card for Christmas and she has agreed to pay 200 for a new one, while i fork out the rest.

I currently run
p4 2.8 800fsb
1 gig of ddr400 in dual mode
80 gig seagate 7200rpm
ati 9600xt
audigy 2 plat.
mitsubishi 19in lcd

I bought the 9600xt last year and it has been a good card, i just know its not going to satisfy me with all the new games coming out, hl2, wow, star wars kotor2, and more.

I was planning on getting the x800 pro but after reading these forums for a few minutes it became clear it would be stupid not to fork over a little more and get the x800xt. am i right?

I am having a problem finding a ATI x800xt online, where is a good place to get one? I wanted to stay with ATI made but are there any other makers? I dont want it to die on me, and i want a good warranty. XPCgear has the sapphire x800xt for 479, is that a good price and are they a good brand? I really dont want a x800xt made by another company that doesnt stand equal with the ati built one. As you can tell I am very worried about quality when moving away from ATI made.

If you guys have any suggestions please help me. I would like to stay in the mid 400 price range, and really want a quality made card. Places to purchase these cards would be great also, maybe some places have deals?

Thank you for your time! I am also guessing this upgrade is worth it? hehe

Wink >:P xt PE

http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduc...102-385&DEPA=1 is the best card its a xt pe (but it says its a xt **read the reveiws they all say xt pe**) if they are pulling your leg i dont think you'll be disaponted anyway. sapphire is THE BEST ati card manufacturer EVER i might cash in my 6800gt for this thing, just depends on what i fell like. (edit: this is the normal XT if your intersted http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...102-423&depa=1 )

wow, is this really true? I looked through newegg and they list an X800XT for 455, then there is the one people claim to be the X800XTPE for 485, but it is not listed as such, then they list a X800XTPE for 512. Can anyone verify the 485 one to trully be a X800XTPE just mislabled? I am confused here, why is newegg doing this? It would suck to pay 30 dollars more only to get the same product. 512 is too much for me, so i am praying that this 485 one is really a x800xtpe... ill be crossing my fingers.

Is sapphire really such a good brand too? Ill take your word Itchy 5 though since you seem very enthusiastic about it, hehe.

System Specs

sapphire is built in the same factory as the ati cards (most of them are at least) the same goes for powercolor and a few others.

one word (ok a sentance) of advice: DO NOT BUY FROM XPCGEAR.COM!!!

i'm in the middle of a 2 month struggle with them. they have my defective card and say it is good. i do not want it back, they will not refund my money. so my CC company is doing an investigation and i am stuck without a card. i just want my money back...
