I'd go for one of those, I don't relish the idea of going back to nvidia for my next machine but I will if it's the only place I can get SLI.

I've seen it mentioned briefly on other sites as well. I'm sure it will be an awesome product fully rivaling Nvidia's offering. The final decision for me when I build a new system at some point next year will be how well Ati's Linux driver program will have matured by then. If it's still stuck in the pre-catalyst condition it's at now I will switch to Nvidia as I want something fully functional without having to spend 3-4 hours struggling to achieve mediocre results.

>.> I am actually glad they didnt go with the cheesy SLI... I still say nVidia has had enough time to come up with a new name since 3DFX... why not make a new one?

Let's see...hmm, MAYBE BECAUSE 3DFX HAD A "LOYAL" FANBASE!? I hear people talking about running multiple Voodoo's and kicking ass with them back in the day. Nvidia has brought back that day...
If it is a dual card solution, I don't think Nvidia will let it just pass by them. Some how I think it could turn into a huge lawsuit, or ATI could have a less efficient architecture and underperform in comparison. Just my bet...

I don't think nvidia will make that big of a deal out of it. these two companies have been stealing each other's ideas and tweaking them slightly for a long time. they just slap a new name on it and go.

From the news on the hardware sites they SHOULD have called it something else. SLI is Scan Line Interleave, and that was refering to interleaved scan lines being rendered by alternate cards. The new Nvidia solution doesnt do it that way anyhow.
