3dmark 2005 and doom 3 missing texture issue

hello,
game 1 and game 2 of 3dmark 05 run ok.
the monster in game 3 has 'black patches'/ missing textures on it. it is the only object that is affected. everything else renders fine.
if i turn software vertex shader on the problem goes away
interestingly the iq test fail to pick these up. here are the images taken from the benchmark and iq tests.

the pictures arent exactly in sync, but believe me all of the under belly shows these artifacts, no matter what frame!
also have a similar problem is doom 3 . the initial mars planet at the title has a similar black patch over it

set up
msi ati x800 pro not modded, at 553/500 (problems at stock speed too, infact also at 300/300!)
intel p4 3 ghz on intel i875 board
1gb ddr ram
sb audigy 2 card

ps. the vertex shader tests of 05 run ok!
no problems in farcry, or mark 03

sounds like you got a cooling problem. Did you check if the fan didnt turn off on u? I dont have too much experiance in this area. Just my specualtion.

It could be a driver bug as well. Wich drivers did you run the tests on??

i have tried it on all the drivers that were rel after x800pro was introduced.
(cats 4.6-4.9;hotfix;omega).
i dont really think its a fan issue. cuz it only happens in 2 apps that i know of.
in 3dmark 05. IT ONLY AFFECTS THE MONSTER. NOTHING ELSE!
in doom 3 it affects the spinning mars at the title, and some texture surfaces in the game, BUT NOT THE VARIOUS ENEMIES OR NPCs.
also please note the the 3dmark05 iq test run ok.
all demos i've made while playing doom3 also turn out ok.

Sounds like its a driver problem. Meaning ATI needs to fix the problem. So be patient.
Or could posibly mean your card needs to be replaced becuase of defincinceas. But i highly doubt it. =)
