Hi, I´m new at the forum, and I want starting here posting a problem that I´m sure some of you know for sure:
When softmodding my 9800SE@Pro, there is a visible Checkboarding-column pattern on the right side of my screen because the damaged pipes, on certain DirectX 9.0c applications (all 3D mark 2003 test or Far Cry worked with no artifact), and all openGL ones. The way I discovered to solving this issue was using rtool and disbling AA (set it on "application preference"), this way the Checkboarding completely disappears on any DirectX appz, the GFX cards works stable and fine without no more artifacts and 8 pipelines fully enabled.
When I try to do the same thing for OpenGL, I´m not able to get rid of the Checkers pattern, it continuing the same way DirectX was before the FIX..... I know about I got a GFX with bad pipes, but...it´s posible to disabling the AA on OpenGL of any other alternative way from rtool or ATI control panel??. I don´t understad why a Checkboarding effect corrected for the DirectX API still remains on OpenGL API, althought I´ve located the mistake on the AA filter feature. I´ve tried almost any of the other solutions for eliminating the OpenGL artifact like disabling Hyper-Z, or Fast Z clear, but nothing works. I dind´t really care get rid of the Checkboarding just would like to understad the weird behaviour of my GFX card.
Any idea about this would be great
