a very strange problem with OCing my 9800SE

alright so I got my 9800SE@pro and all that rott right?

well I was OCing my CPU and deciding that an extra little 100mhz or so would be nice for the system...and indeed it was...and was great for games too.

so I decided "meh why not the graphics card too! I put on a b1chin' HSF mod specially so the bugger would perform well.

Welllll heres where the problems hit.

The games run GREAT! No artifacts at all and everythign was perfect.....until I hit divx.

I opened Divx, opened a movie and it seemed alright...then opened a HD trailer from divx.com(its what I use for OC testing of both CPU and VPU) well...the second i clicked "Play" it bluescreened and said that the ATI driver was screwed up and about to send my computer 6 feet under.

Whats up with this? Everything worked great and I even gunna OC some more since I was getting such good results...then Divx craps out. I mean I know an obvious solution to this, but the post processing with the ATI card is so nice AND I cant run a few of my ultra HD quality video files on the comp without the ATI card. This is slightly disapointing to say the least. anyone know what the deal with that is?

oh yeah and now Divx is acting like it was just installed and asking me to register and crap. lovely. ah well my fault for OCing :

Son_of_Thunder is on a distinguished road
System Specs

first try undoing your overclocking and see if that fixes it. then, if it is surely the overclocking that is causing the problem i see only one way around it other than giving up the overclock. when you're done playing games and want to watch a divx movie, turn the clocks back down.

--edit--

my 250th post, i'm an addict now
