radeon 9200SE vs 9550?

the SE is like almost half the price, they are both 128mb cards... looking for something new for my brother... hes bein doin fine so far with a voodoo3 16mb but hes gettin a new rig and its about time he upgrades... are they both dx9 compliant?

if so it doesnt really make much sense gettin the 9550 eh?

i dont think the 9200 is compliant, as it is essentially a rebadged 8500, and i stear clear of SEs at all costs, as they are SEVERELY crippled....what games and stuff does he play?

radeon 9200se 128 mb: 200 mhz core/167 mhz mem - $49
radeon 9550 128 mb : 250 mhz core/200 mhz mem - $92
radeon 9600 256 mb: 325 mhz core/200 mhz mem - $103
radeon 9600 pro 128 mb: 400 mhz core/300 mhz mem - $111
radeon 9600xt 128 mb: 500 mhz core/300 mhz mem - $135

to answer your question, the 9200se is a directX 8.1 card. here are all the cards i found that might suit your brother. if he waits and saves his money, he can even get the 9600 pro or xt, which is a much better investment than the 9200se or 9550 (both of which ATI does not sell or manufacture itself).
