x800 pro fan speed

Hi,

I have a sapphire x800pro and it seems as though the fan speed is pretty slow. I can stop it very easy with my finger and it also seems like the card is very hot to touch. When I try starting the unit with the power connector unplugged the the fan is quite fast. But of course my bios stops me from going any further. I have cleared the cmos since installing the card. Any ideas? Here is my specs..

Amd XP3200 Barton
1gig of corsair 3200XS
Atac True Power 430 watt

Thanks Guys

Also i installed the new omega drivers and in the radlinker section it shows my clock speeds as 472.5 core and 445 memory. I thought the memory was supposed to be at 900?

the memory is DDR, so multiply what radlinker shows by 2 to get the "actual" speed

Or the other way around. What RadLinker reports is the actual clock frequency. It is a popular practice to double the figure just because there is DDR technology in there, but it is wrong to do so since double datarate technology does not affect the actual clock frequency.

I don't know about the fan speed. The fans are larger on these cards compared to older ones so perhaps they don't need to rotate so fast. The cards getting quite hot is normal, as long as no real problems arise like crashes or graphical glitches. Perhaps the fan speed could even be regulated by temperature on these cards, but I haven't actually used one yet. Wich pains me greatly at the moment.
