exclamation How much should i overclock my 9600xt

I have a Gigabyte Radeon 9600xt. I've always thought that it could perform a little better. How much should I overclock?
My system specs:
AMD Athlon 2800+ 2.09ghz
2 sticks of 512mb ddr (3200) Corsair Xtreme
120gb Hard-drive
550wat psu
9 Case Fans
and of course, a Gigabyte Radeon 9600xt.

That is different for every card. It also depends on how well your case is ventilated. You should try it yourself. You could use Atitool and it'll find frequencies for you core and mem itself. These are lower than the maximum of your card. But usually they are safe. You could also do it completely manual. Then you'kll have to up the frequencies by 3 or 5 Mhz. Test for a while (using intensive benchmarks or games). If you get no artifact up it again. And keep doing this till you get artifacts. And when you do you should up your mem or you core alone. Not both. To check which one is causing the artifacts. When you have found out which one is causing the artifacts. You should lower the frequency of that one. And after that you can continue to up the frequencies of the other one, untill that gives causes artifacts. And when you've found the maximum frequencies you should test it for a long time on those frequencies to test if it is fully stable and if there are no artifacts.
