Video Card Upgrade Time
Ok, Just built a new custom PC for a customer and got paid and of course the $$ is burning a hole in my pocket.. I currently have a Saphire 9500 (non-pro) and I am thinking of upgrading to the ATI 9800 Pro. Am I going to gain a decent amount of performance or am I just wasting my $$?

id say go for it. then sell the 9500 to make some of the cost back. 9800pro is a very good card.

Wait till you see what the next ATI card can offer, then pick up a 9800XT for cheap!

I would keep the 9500 NP and throw a VGA Silencer on it and see how far you can overclock it. Does the card softmod successfully?
Then when the new ATI line comes out grab a deal on a 9800 Pro or XT at that time.

I have had a Zalman on it for a while and it clocks great but I get pixel problems on most games....
And even before most of you posted to wait I decided to wait. My good friend here at work convinced me to wait. I figure I am going to wait till early/mid summer and then upgrade. I can put this $$ towards some stuff on one of my fish tanks Oh and use some to get some shirts at the Crystal Method concert tonight
Thanks for the help everyone!!

wait for the new cards to come out.... then consider your upgrade - you will be able to see the prices of the new cards and you will be able to see the price drop on the cards that are out at the moment
