I've searched for the key word "9800SE" but most of it's about softmodding or issues related to drivers.
A few days ago I saw about 20 pieces of
Powercolor 9800SE 128MB cards guaranteed to softmod or your money back. Now I was thinking "darn, guaranteed softmod to 9800XT! What am I waiting for?" So I paid ($200USD including shipping) and waited excitedly. However, the guy told me he ran out of the 9800SE manufactured on the 9800Pro PCB's. He only had one left which is a 9800SE on a 9700Pro PCB(still guaranteed to softmod).
Due to miscommunication he already sent it and it's on its way to me.

Now the question, should I:
a. don't even open it and send it back for the refund.

b. open it, check the PCB and send it back for the refund.
c. keep it(buy it, I mean) and sell it for confirming that it is softmodable?
Please don't tell me to softmod it then return it. Because if I installed it and it is able to turn into a 9800XT. I'd have no reason to refund it.
Any
useful suggestions is great.
