what the?

with my fx5600 (and all my vid cards beforehand, all nvidia) when i first boot up the first thing that comes up is the vid card bios version and vid card type screen. With my r9800pro (power color) i dont get anything like that.

does the 9800 not have this? my card works fine btw

...well..... the Radeon 7000 has it.... but i think it's due to startup and monitors.... the older and nvidia cards have a longer wait time for the bios detection...

The latest ATI cards do not do that and I honestly can't remember ever seeing an ATI card show that at start up. Maybe before my time of using ATI.

my TNT2 Ultra did that, but not the All-In-Wonder Radeon, or the AIW9700Pro

I've had ATi cards going back to the AIW 8 MB Pro PCI...

I don't recall seeing a post screen for the video cards with ATi. I have with others in other systems or during trials.

Started with ATI 7200 pre Cat. driver days and have never see what you speak of. Must not be an ATI function.
