Low framerate

I have posted about this before, hopefully someone may have a fresh perspective. Wondered if anyone had any ideas about this...

My system specs are as follows:
__________________________________________________ ___________
Soyo KT-333 DRAGON Ultra Platinum
Athlon XP 2400+
Radeon 9800Pro 128MB
512MB Kingston pc2700 ddr
450PS
WinXP Home OS
Have tried multiple versions of ATI drivers including Omega Drivers
__________________________________________________ ___________

When I play COD or SOF2 my frame rate is very low. On a full server in sof2 I can't maintain 60FPS. occasionally it peeks at 150 or so but drops in the 30s. COD runs about the same. Yet I have spoke to people with lower system specs ie nvidia fx5200, they maintain 70FPS with no problems at all. I was concerned that it was a problem with my mainboard, I had the same issues using a 9700PRO, dif processor, dif ram, dif ps. The only thing I haven't changed is my mainboard, nor do I want to if I dont have to.

I find this very frustrating to pay good $$ for a video card and not get the performance I would expect. Any ideas would be appreciated.

ROFL I dobt anyone with a 5200 maimtains 70 fps in eather of those games uless everything is set on performace and all the eye candy turned off wich looks horrable! anything over your refesh rate is a waste anyways!

Also if you hosting the game you gotta expect lower fps becouse your systems haveing to send and recive every packets etc ...

online plays is allways slower then single player play anyways due to webcode/latency etc

for eample with an old crd of min i got only max 60fps online but in single player i got around max 120 fps at the time i was on dial up

there is no way a 5200 is even near a 9800 pro lol

what are you bechmark scores 3dmark 2003 and 2001se?
