Ati doesn't support horizontal span mode

I am just wondering why ATi doesn't support this feature it sure would be nice to be able to play dual monitor games that support this mode

Yes, that is the most needed feature in my case, and I'm quite disappointed with my new ATi card now. I thought span mode is a standard feature today. Nvidias can span horizontally and vertically (to fake a single monitor, which is displayed on two).

Can't it be fixed with drivers?
