Sad I upgraded my graphic card and this is what I get?

Ok.. I recently upgraded from a Geforce2 MX 400, to an ATI Radeon 9200.

And this is what i get.
Excess amount of graphic glitches that can't really be solved..

I seen them in Freelancer, Unreal Tournament 2003, and Jumpgate... and mabie Tron 2.0.

Freelancer: I see Jagged edges in the backgrounds.

Unreal Tournamend 2003: I see some unusual blocky shadows under the player.

Jumpgate:
http://home.graffiti.net/zuson/greenring.jpg <-- The green ring is supposed to be in front of the station.

http://home.graffiti.net/zuson/purpball2.jpg <-- The purple ball is supposed to be in front of the structures.

I tried every drivers, DNA, Omega, Catalyst 4.1..

Doesn't seem to solve any problems.

All these glitches never happened when I was using my old geforce 2 MX 400. I am pretty ticked off that the newer card causes a million of those glitch problems.

Right now I currently use DNA 2.0.4.1.

I don't care about the FPS.. as long as it doesn't get brutalized..
I just want to get rid of all the graphic glitches.

p.s. The vendor refuses to take my returned product(the 9200).

Any chance of solving these problems?

Would you please post up the rest of your system specs? And are your drivers up to date? Are Fastwrites enabled or disabled in your BIOS?

These problems you describe are very common when your previous video drivers have not been completely cleaned from your system. It sounds like you're having a conflict. Since you haven't listed any specs (even what OS you're using) it's hard to give an educated answer to your questions.

Be absolutely sure to uninstall all the previous nVidia drivers, run a Registry Cleaner, and follow any instructions for complete removal of all previous drivers.

One quick and simple way to do this is to just reinstall your Windows OS over itself. You'll need to do all the Windows Updates, etc, afterwards. Some people would actually advise that you do a complete HD reformat and THEN install from scratch. I haven't had to do that myself, but the reinstallation of Windows has been necessary.

Be sure to install your updated motherboard drivers, DirectX 9.0b, and then the ATi drivers.

Oops I forgot to post my specs:

Pentium 4
Windows2000
Motherboard: VIA
512 DDR Ram
ATI Radeon 9200
80GB
SoundBlaster Live!

P.S. I installed the default drivers for the first time from the CD and got the same problem here.

I even use Driver Cleaner to get rid of the drivers..

Install a new set of drivers.. The problem still exist.

Whats the problem here?

I'm pretty well going to stick with reinstalling the OS. It's about an hour's project under most conditions. Just be sure to back up anything you created and want to save first. If anything does go wrong, you can reinstall programs from their original CDs. If you have saved games, images you've created or downloaded, that sort of thing, just back them up to a CD or DVD if you have a burner.

Doing it this way, you won't have to reformat the HD.

Best to just reinstall and start from clean slate. Usually driver cleaner will work, but when I went for Nvidia to ATI, I had to reinstall OS to really get the demon Nvidia drivers completely out of the way so the ATI drivers could install properly. Download Omega's latest drivers, they work great for me.

Also for better help find out and list:

Pentium 4 ---------------- ?what speed?
Motherboard: VIA -------- ?what brand, model, revision?
512 DDR Ram -------------- ?what speed, brand, timings?

Plus it's good to be informed of what's n your rig and will help you troubleshoot issues in the future.

Get this program, install it, and use it. It is an awesome tool to learn about your system. It has links built right into the program that will bring you to the site you need to upgrade your drivers and learn about the hardware in your PC. A must have program! AND it's FREE

My own suggestion would be to use the ATi official drivers until you figure out if the screen corruption is due to driver conflicts or if it's a faulty card. Also, are you attempting any overclocking at all? If so, revert to the default timings of everything until you get the problem sorted out. If it's a bad card you'll need to RMA it or return it to the place of purchase for an exchange or refund.

Once you get the screen problems worked out, I'd still stick with the official drivers for a couple of days to just make sure you don't have other problems creep up. Once you're satisfied that the card is performing properly, then I'd recommend the Omega drivers for your gaming experience.

Good luck!
