Are you using a ASUS Graphics card, if so then, you won't have any Overdrive, as they took it out for use of SmartDoctorII instead.
For info:

Hmm, I did exactly as you said, using driver cleaner etc., and followed the guides on proper driver installs and still no overdrive tab
Any ideas now?
And yes I am positive it is a 9600XT, card works great except no overdrive tab. It is a PowerColor 9600XT.

Or simply use a regular overclocking tool that can also increase the memory speed a bit, something that a 9600XT can really use. The Overdrive is a cute little feature but not much to have if you really want to overclock.

i've got an ATI Radeon 9600XT and i've got Overdrive but some card makers choose not to install the temp sensor on the GPU. check the maker of your card's web site to see if Overdrive is available on your XT model.
