What card to get for my Bro??? 9200 or 9600SE???
Ok its his B-Day the day after X-mas what graphics card is better for me to buy him.....
He is running a 9000LE right now.
On a budget i am debating on the 9600Se or the 9200 128mb
Which one is more powerful for games? I know the 9600SE is DX9 compatible but its only 64bit memory bandwidth. He plays planetside and Star Wars Galaxies which card would be better for these games?
Its funny he had a Geforce FX 5200 and the 9000LE runs galaxies like 12fps faster lol Nvidia suck!!!
I just can't seem to find any benchmarks comparing the 2.. Thanks for any input.

Well here is the closest comparison I could find, though with 9200 np. They seem to swap positions quite a bit, but the 9600 has PS 2.0 if that matters at all. Dunno difference in performance between 9200 pro and np though.

how much cash ya got to blow?
and beware a 9200 is 250/200 but the 9200 se is only 200/200 clock speeds...
the 9600 se should be around 325/200
so it would be the fastest

i know the 9600SE has a faster clock speed but its only 64bit memory bandwidth which kills the speed... The 9200 is the 128mb one the ATI brand so its prob the higher clock speed one. Thanks for that site thats exatcly what I was looking for. Both the cards look pretty even i just geuess it depends if its a DX9 or 8.1 game the 9600SE seems to run a lil better for the newer games and the 9200 runs better for the older games. I think I am going to get the 9600SE for him and just try to OC it like 25mhz core and mem to get a lil extra performance out of it I hope it lets me lol. Thanks guys i appreciate it. I still havn't fixed me rebooting prob with my 9700 Pro but im pretty sure its my FIC MB is just a cheap piece of crap and my CPU pushes it to fast and it flips out and reboots. Cause on FIC website its not certified with a P4 2.4ghz at 133mhz x18 its only certified with the 100mhz FSB 2.4ghz CPU So new MB for me here i come AGP 8x hehe

neon, your playing the clock speed game? Clock speeds arnt everything. Just look at the 5800 running 500/500 while the 9700 runs 324/311 and still beats it.

it depends what games you play as to which card you get out of the 9600se and the 9200pro...
hope this helps
