Would the 9800 SE with 256-Bit please stand up.

Holy crud, which one has it? There are several sites claiming that it has 256-Bit interface while Sapphire's site says it has 128-Bit. Does the L shape memory arrangement determine that? I'm basically looking for a 9800 SE which can be modded to a 9800.

Then you have a problem...... The thing with 9800se cards is that no one know if it works with unlocking the card befor you tested it....
Most of the se cards cant be unlocked "Like mine".

It is a risk to buy them..... It is better to buy a 9600xt or 9800pro/xt!

Which one did you buy?

Sapphire? Power Color? Memory arrangement in L or I shape?

Stressing out~!

These vendors in my city~ I have that claims they have an ATI 9800 SE for $250 CDN, another sells Sapphire 9800 SE for $243, and one more who sells a Powercolor 9800 SE for $369. From reading posts throught many many forums, the Powercolor is the card with the highest modding rate. Now to me, that's not good enough. I'm not going to put down $369 on a gamble that could leave me with a POS card that performs on par with a 9600 PRO~! I'm going to give a call to the guys who're selling the "BBA 9800 SE"..see what's that about.

I see an ASUS 5800 for $319 as well..

If you can find the 9800SE AIW that hercules make then thats your best bet. I've had access to a few and all have moded fine

Plus you get all the features of the AIW part... usually they retail for about the same as a 9600p/Xt in my area.

Just received my Sapphire AIW 9800se and it rocks with the 8pip. 14000 3dmark2001 17500 with soft mod, 3800 mark2003 5800 with soft mod. Just waiting for a hard mod that could change the device id to a true 9800 pro
