Aretè is on a distinguished road

exclamation What is the "Norm" For Radeon 9700 pro temp?

As the subject says, what is considered a normal and stable temperature for a Radeon 9700 card?

I ask this because lately i have been getting a lot of hard locks, ill be playing a game, Asherons call 2 for instance, and all of a sudden everything locks up cant do anything but restart the comp. Odd thing is i never get an error message not before during or after the crash. When i reboot, comp reboots as normal as nothing happened, windows doesnt pop up about anything with crash info. Once in a while it will do the white desktop with error bout activte desktop and if i wish to restore. But that is about it. Iv checked cpu temp and that runs at about 88-95 mobo is as steady 70-75, hard drives are around same temp as well. Radeon card i believe if i set the probe right is running at 95 degrees. I dunno if this is normal for a video card or not because i just recently insereted the probe due to recent hard lock up. I looked through the boards and recent msgs about drivers causing the card to run hotter, and i figured that was the problem since i always update the drivers soon as i get em. So right now i am at driver verson 6.14.0010.6387 and after about two hours of testing i havent crashed.

Though something very odd happened as i was playing a game, it stuttered sound made wierd hiss scratching noises (same noise it always makes when its locks up) but then it stopped and game went on fine without a hitch. (it was suggested to me that i could have a sound card driver problem so i did reinstall drivers with recently released ones)

Now last night i had a very high number of hard lock ups, extraordinarly high than whats been going on the past week since the problem surfaced. Now the lock ups are not just in game, when i was typing a paper the comp just locked up, no hissing noise or anything it just up and froze couldnt cntrl alt delte or anything like that, just dead with me sayin all kinds of thank yous for saving my paper .2 seconds before the crash. So with that in mind, im testing things out, i load up Ac2, and i get a hard lock up after bout 25 minutes of game play this time though insteado f hissing noise, it stutters stops, moniter goes black, i look at HDD light, still flashin and blinking (usually during lock up it freezes or isnt on) I put on my headphones i hear game still going on, then it stops hisses and everything locks up. It does this twice, third time it locks up it locks up at windows xp loading bar. I turned off comp ate some food let it chill, came back and played for a good hour till it locked up again then i just went to bed to think about what it is.

So today i put in a probe and it says temp is around 94/95. have not had a single crash since uninstall drivers just that one instance where it almost crashed, I didnt even bother reinstalling drivers, instead of running driver cleaner i uninstalled rebooted and let windows install the first drivers it finds, it picks those previously mentioned and so far everything been running pretty smooth. Im hoping tommorows 3.10s will fix this problem (though im little and i stress little skeptical because i was using the pre 3.10s, and i do recnoize the fact i was using beta drivers) But i had changed to the 3.10s to fix previos issues i was having, namely COD and an odd hard lock/black moniter crash here and there.

So im asking those who know their ish, what is a norm temp, any suggestions/comments to my problems, if you need more info about my machine/setup to help me with my problem ill glady post it. And thank you in advance for any help and or pertinent input
