9800np Help!!

i just got a 9800NP brand new pulled from a dell XPS system

everything works fine.. but when i run a benchmark the fps is really jumpy.. and also when i run counterstrike the fps is also very jumping goes from 100 - 70 - 60 - 90 etc.. and isnt a 9800 for counterstrike or 3dmark at least supposed to run at a constant GOOD fps? i mean i paid 250 dollars i expect more then jumpy fps...

any help would be GREATLY appreciated !!!

Card is Made by ATI 9800NP with samsung 2.8 memory

and my 3dmark2003 scores were 4068

on a P4 2.4ghz 512mb Abit Be-7 mobo

and ive also tried a couple of different version catalyst and runned counterstrike on it and they all give me about the same bs..

oh and also 3dmark2003 runs very low fps on some and will drop from high to low in some points

for instance the first benchmark will go from 60 - 80 - 150 - 60 - 267 - 30 etc... PLEASE HELP!!

what drivers exactly? How old is your windows install? tried the Omegas? Might be time for a reinstall, I get 5770 with my AXP 2100+.

could be a good choice formating.

take it you have a p4 if so goe for a abit is7-e or is7-g depends on your budget.they will be a little better than a is7.

and deffinately one of the first things to do is install the abit flash menu and upgrade the bios to the latest version.i had a few problems with my abit is7-e before i flashed the bios.i only had the mobo for a week at the time.
